OVERVIEW: This small tourist-friendly beach town on Highway 1 has no sidewalks and little parking. Many businesses cater to the beach. In addition to older homes that sit on unpaved streets, the town is home to newer developments, including a gated subdivision on the beach and Bolinas Lagoon at Seadrift. The three-mile beach is Marin's best expanse and is seasonally monitored by lifeguards. There are picnic tables, snack shops and shower facilities and occasional shark warnings, beached whales, and rip tide alerts.
